So my daughter has arrived!! She was born on Thursday morning at 7:49 only just making it into a hospital bed!! My waters started to break at exactly 3am, at first I thought it was just a trickle so I would ignore it but slowly there was a bit more and a bit more so I turned on the light and had a look and sure enough I was lying in a wet puddle which couldn't be anything else!! I always imagined that I would feel nervous or panicked at the first sign of things getting started but both my husband and I were so calm, we turned off the light and went back to sleep until about 4am when the contractions started. My contractions did not really hurt, that's all I can say - I again had imagined that they would be agony and I would be bent double in pain but my husband held me close through every single one and we breathed together and remained calm and focused. By 6am they were coming fast and furious so we called my doctor and arranged to meet him at Cedars at 7:30am, we got there at 7:15 and I was immediately taken to a delivery room as everyone could see the baby was on it's way. I was in somewhat of a trance by this point but all I can say is that the first thing the doctor said to me was "liberty, you are ready to push", there was no time to get acquainted with the room I was in, or the nurses, or get my pillows organized and think about what position I might like to be in! My husband pretty much delivered our baby girl himself! The staff barely knew who we were and had no where near got our papers out or any of that stuff, there simply wasn't time. My doctor was fantastic and kept me very focused, he explained exactly what was going on and before I knew it my daughter was in my arms - it took me 8 pushes to get her out! She is incredible and perfect in every way - you are all in for the greatest moment of your life! I had 2 Tylenol after she came out and absolutely nothing else and I felt and feel incredible, I know that I was very lucky but honestly if any of you are feeling at all anxious, as I was, there is nothing to worry about and you can all do it, just believe in yourself and relax and your babies will follow. I will miss you all and our classes together, you all gave so much to me and my baby and I always felt amazing after class so thank you all and especially you Jessica. I think you are a great teacher and just so you know one of the nurses who was holding my leg up when I was pushing could not believe how strong I was! So I have you to thank!! Liberty
